No instructions needed, it’s really simple to use. Inside one hand there’s a zipper where you can easily reach the mechanism, just turn it on first before using the remote. It comes with a remote and a USB charging cord, you’ll just need your own adapter. I bought it for my soon to be born niece but tried it myself and it actually put me to sleep too and it’s super soothing. After about 30 to 45 minutes it stops on its own and you just turn the switch inside the hand to restart it. Battery life has been good so far, haven’t had to recharge yet. And yes, the middle finger does the patting which is kind of funny lol
